Due to Covid-19, we have made significant changes to our operations in order to ensure the health and safety of our patrons and guests, as well as our valued staff. As a result, we have reduced our seating capacity from 14 tables down to 8 tables only. Reservations may be limited during this uncertain period; however, please understand that we are taking the utmost precautions to provide a comfortable and safe dining experience for all involved.
We also encourage diners to consider our more casual take-out menu (available 7 nights a week) and family meal pickups (available Mon/Tue only) as we attempt to continue doing what we do best: feed people inspired food creations and offer handpicked wine selections. We greatly appreciate your support and understanding as we navigate this uncharted territory together.
Cafe Kandahar and Snug Bar are currently closed for the off-season. We will re-open December 11th for the 2020/2021 Winter Season. Reservations will be accepted beginning November 1st for the winter season. Thank you for your continued support and interest!

When Covid-19 first struck our community here in NW Montana, Cafe Kandahar assisted in spearheading a new program in partnership with the North Valley Food Bank and Whitefish Community Foundation to prepare and provide healthy meals for individuals and families seeking food assistance. Almost overnight, we witnessed a dramatic increase in the need for accessible, affordable food among our community members hardest hit by the virus's widespread economic fallout – including many first-time visitors who'd never before utilized the Food Bank's services.
In response, we established the “Restaurants Providing Healthy Meals for Families” program, through which local restaurants cooked prepared meals for distribution to community members served by the North Valley Food Bank. We are proud to have taken an active role in helping to place food onto our neighbors' tables during a time when many are facing unprecedented challenges in our daily lives.
To date the program has included 11 different local Restaurants, who combined have delivered over 7,600 meals to our community. If you wish to assist our efforts to help feed people in need, please consider making a donation directly to the North Valley Food Bank or to the Whitefish Community Foundation's Community Emergency Response Fund.
Here are some of the changes we have implemented in order to ensure the health and safety of our patrons and guests, as well as our valued staff. We greatly appreciate your support and understanding, as we are taking the upmost precautions to provide a comfortable and safe dining experience for all involved.
